Wetland Restoration and Management
Most wetlands are degraded and in peril because native plants and grasses have been choked out and displaced by invasive plants and shrubs. Invasive vegetation outcompete native plants for space, sunlight and nutrients, creating an unattractive monoculture environment with very limited habitat for beneficial wildlife. Wetlands restored with native plants and grasses are beautiful and diverse environments abounding with wildflowers and wildlife.
Foot Stone Inc. has the expertise to restore and maintain your wetlands so that they can be fully enjoyed by you and future generations. We offer the following services:
- Clearing and controlling invasive trees and shrubs such as buckthorn and dogwood,
- Controlling invasive weeds such as Reed Canary Grass, cattails, Purple Loosestrife and Common Reed (Phragmites)
- Planting and seeding with native shrubs, plants and grasses
- Prescribed burning (See Prescribed Burning page for more information)
